Main House（本館）

本館は1930（昭和5）年竣工の洋館で、モダニズムの影響を感じさせるシンプルな外観の建築です。
The Main House was built in 1930. Its architectural design was inspired by American and European modernism.

ヤマグチハウスを建てた山口堅吉は、富士屋ホテル最後の同族社長であり、その家族には数奇な物語がありました。
堅吉の妻、貞子は、家の竣工から2年後の昭和7年、39歳の若さで亡くなります。
その後、堅吉は後妻の千代子を迎えますが、その一人娘、裕子（やすこ）もまた39歳で亡くなります。不思議な偶然でした。
ヤマグチハウスは、堅吉と裕子の婿、祐司という2人の家主と、貞子、千代子、裕子と祐司の後妻、順子という4人の女主人によって住み継がれたのです。
Yamaguchi House was built by Kenkichi Yamaguchi, the last managing director of Fujiya Hotel as the family company. There was a curious story.
Kenkichi’s wife, Sadako passed away at the young age of 39 years old in1932, just two years after Yamaguchi House was completed.
Afterwards, Kenkichi married to the second wife, Chiyoko. But their only daughter, Yasuko also passed away at the age of 39 years old. That was a mysterious coincident.
Yamaguchi House had kept on residing by two owners, Kenkichi and Yuji, who married with Yasuko, and four women, Sadako, Chiyoko, Yasuko, and Junko, the second wife of Yuji.

洋館らしい佇まいの玄関ホールがお迎えします。印象的なシャンデリアは、箱根ガラスの森ミュージアムの職人が手がけたオリジナルデザインです。

You can see an impressive chandelier, designed by a craftsman from a Venetian Glass Museum in Hakone just for Yamaguchi House.

ヤマグチハウスの2人の家主、堅吉と祐司が使った書斎は、当時の雰囲気をそのまま残しています。山口家の蔵書と家族の歴史についての展示があります。
The study, used by two owners of Yamaguchi House, Kenkichi and Yuji kept the atmosphere of that time. You can find their library and exhibition about the Yamaguchi family.

居心地のいいリビングルームは、石造りのテラスと庭園に面しています。
ヤマグチハウスの2人目の家主、祐司の趣味を偲ばせる野鳥観察用の望遠鏡やBoseのCDプレイヤーと1980－90年代のCDコレクションがあります。
2022年9月に竣工当時の暖炉を復元しました（滞在中、薪は燃やして頂けません）。
The comfortable living room is faced on the stone veranda and the garden.
You can find a field scope and CD player with CD collection of 1980-90 music, remembering the hobby of Yuji, the second owner of Yamaguchi House.
We restored the original fire place in 2022 September ( You cannot set fire during your stay).

２階にはオーナーの寝室だったベッドルームがあり、大きめのシングルベッド２台と洗面台があり、昭和のアンティーク家具と北欧テキスタイルでロマンティックな雰囲気にまとめてあります。隣接してシャワートイレがあります。 The second floor of the Main House has a bedroom for owner family with 2 large single beds and a wash basin. It is decorated in romantic atmosphere with antique the Showa style furniture and Scandinavian textiles. we have a toilet with bidet function next to the room.

山口家のダイニングルームは、派遣シェフによるプライベートディナーを予約されたゲストにのみ開放します。
地元素材を生かしたフレンチを山口家の食器を使ってご提供致します。経験豊富なシェフがお迎えする特別な体験をお楽しみください。

畳の日本間が2部屋あります。
セミダブルベッドを2台おいたベッドルームは、もともと茶室として設計された床の間付きの部屋で貴重な菊花石、盆栽を配し、本格的な和の雰囲気を楽しんで頂けます。
もうひとつは、掘りごたつテーブル付きのお部屋で、リビングルーム、ダイニングルームとして使って頂けます。
We have 2 tatami rooms.
One room is a bedroom with two semi-doubled beds.
It was originally designed for the tea house, so we have Tokonoma, decorated by chrysanthemum stone and Bonsai. Please enjoy the authentic Japanese atmosphere.
You can use another tatami room with Hori-gotatu style table for a living room and dining room.

大平台温泉は、疲労回復、美肌に効能があります。
泉質は、弱アルカリ塩化物泉で、無色透明です。
露天岩風呂と古代檜風呂の内風呂で楽しんで頂けます。 The natural hot springs of Ohiradai Onsen has the benefits of fatigue recovery and beautiful skin.
Spring quality is weak alkali, salt springs, colorless and clear.
You can enjoy Ohiradai Onsen at the private open-air rock bath and the private bathroom with Kodai Hinoki Buro (the bath tub made from the ancient Japanese cypress, which are the best quality material for bathing in Japanese tradition and smells good)

冷蔵庫、電子レンジ、調理器具を備えたミニキッチンのご用意があります。
洗浄機付きトイレを完備しております。
寝具はすべて綿100％、シーツはエジプト綿の高級品を使用しています。
